Description of training
During the workshop, participants will gain an understanding of the key drivers behind commodity price movements and learn how market changes affect procurement costs and category budgets. The training demonstrates how to identify the main cost drivers, build cost exposure models, and distinguish genuine cost changes from supplier pricing arguments.
Through practical business cases, participants will analyze how commodities, energy, exchange rates, logistics, regulations, and other cost drivers influence the final price of a product or service. They will learn how to use market indices, analyze cost structures, and assess the validity of supplier price increase requests. The training also covers how to build indexation models and evaluate the impact of pass-through mechanisms and time lags on pricing.
The second part of the training focuses on procurement budgeting and cost forecasting. Participants will learn how to build forecasting models, develop market scenarios, perform sensitivity analyses, and evaluate the impact of cost changes on company budgets and cash flow.
