At the Negotiation and Mediation Tournament for Business, in addition to the excitement of the competition, we also try to inspire participants with stories from specially invited guests. This year Radek Bak shared with us his experience in international purchasing negotiations. Many thanks Radek for your presentation!
Radek is an expert in managing the purchasing process, creating purchasing strategies and managing relationships with key suppliers. He is passionate about improving the professional and personal development of his colleagues. As part of the „Procure Plus” Programme, he has conducted functional as well as general business training courses for hundreds of participants in Europe, Asia and the Americas - in the latter region, he created from scratch (recruitment, implementation, training) a purchasing organisation working for factories in the USA, Mexico, Brazil and Argentina. At the invitation of the Polish-American Center in Łódź, he taught Purchasing Process to participants of the Executive MBA course as part of the programme implemented under the aegis of the University of Łódź and the University of Maryland. Since 2016, he has been an accredited ENS (Effective Negotiation Skills) negotiation trainer.

Konrad Krochmal from Eurofins was a special guest at the Negotiation and Mediation Tournament for Business. Konrad has built his negotiation experience working in both purchasing and sales. He has been successful in generating savings and is now successfully developing Eurofins sales in the Polish market.
We threw down the gauntlet to Konrad to contrast the buyer's point of view with the seller's point of view on exactly the same negotiation. In his presentation, he demonstrated how weaker access to information and weaker preparation for negotiations easily lead to failure. 95% of success is preparation, 5% is the negotiation itself. Thank you Konrad for an inspiring speech!
